Circles of Support and Accountability

Circles of Support and Accountability

The Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) program is centered around the principle of “no more victims.” It offers a restorative approach to justice by fostering, developing, and maintaining healthy living patterns for individuals as they reintegrate into the community.

Structure of CoSA Teams:

CoSA teams, or “circles,” consist of 3 to 5 trained volunteers along with a staff member who convene weekly with the core member. Their purpose is to assist in:

  • Developing healthy relationships
  • Managing daily life
  • Adhering to post-release expectations

As the core member progresses and rebuilds their community connections, the CoSA team celebrates their achievements while providing support through daily challenges and potential obstacles.

The Role of CoSA Volunteers:

CoSA volunteers play a crucial role in establishing a bond based on mutual respect and understanding, while also building upon the life experiences of others. The diverse backgrounds, ages, experiences, and perspectives of CoSA volunteers reflect the broader community.

We are always looking for community CoSA volunteers in the Newport region. If you are interested in learning more about this volunteer opportunity, please call us at 855-663-5224.
